Therapeutic Community
The purpose of the Therapeutic Community (TC) is to reduce crowding in Kansas prisons by diverting probation condition violators to an intensive, long-term residential treatment setting.
The Therapeutic Community opened its doors at the Adult Residential Center in February, 1998. This 6-month drug treatment program is designed for offenders who have extensive drug abuse and criminal histories. The program is accredited by the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services and the American Correctional Association. The TC program and its aftercare component can accommodate 68 clients, both male and female.
